This medication is used to improve symptoms of gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by esophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, gastritis, and ulcers, including abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting. It also helps relieve symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome and spasmodic colitis. In children, it is effective in treating habitual vomiting and constipation and diarrhea caused by non-infectious bowel transit disorders. Thus, it comprehensively improves various gastrointestinal diseases and symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

For tymaprebutin maleate, take 100-200 mg orally 3 times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so it should not be used by patients with a genetic problem that prevents the digestion of lactose. While taking this medication, rare gastrointestinal side effects may occur, such as constipation or diarrhea, abdominal gas sounds or nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, dry mouth, or numbness in the mouth. Additionally, symptoms of the central nervous system such as rapid heartbeat, fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may rarely occur. Liver function test results may also rise, so caution regarding liver health is advised. If a hypersensitivity reaction such as a skin rash occurs, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication when the benefits of treatment are deemed to outweigh the risks, as its safety is not well established. Lactating women should avoid using this medication if possible, and if it must be used, it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, stored in a tightly sealed container away from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool and dry place. Additionally, to maintain the quality of the medication, it should not be transferred to other containers, and misuse or abuse should be avoided.
