Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete bile duct obstruction. Additionally, since this medication contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, LAPP lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. It should be used cautiously in patients with chronic active hepatitis, cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disease, peptic ulcers, and gallstone disease. When taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as occasional diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and rarely abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and discomfort in the upper stomach may also be experienced. Hypersensitivity symptoms like itching or rash may occur, and these symptoms usually subside with the use of antihistamines. Transient jaundice may appear, but the symptoms disappear when the medication is stopped or when jaundice treatment is initiated. Rarely, generalized fatigue or dizziness may occur. Post-marketing studies in South Korea have reported serious side effects such as cirrhosis, ascites, and acute hepatitis C, so caution is warranted. The prescribed dosages must be strictly followed, and if symptoms do not improve after a maximum of 8 weeks or if abnormal symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued, and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. Keep this medication out of reach of children. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid using this medication due to reported toxic risks to the fetus.
