Therefore, patients with phenylketonuria, a hereditary disorder that requires restriction of phenylalanine, should not take this medication. The daily intake of aspartame should be limited to less than 40 mg per kg of body weight according to WHO guidelines; for example, for a 60 kg adult, it should not exceed 2.4 g per day. Persons who are hypersensitive to this medication or allergic to any of its components should not take it. Additionally, it is advised that pregnant or potentially pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children under 2 years of age do not use this medication. Since this medication contains lactose, patients with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, lactose enzyme deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medication. It is important not to take this medication together with certain drugs during treatment. For example, theophylline may interfere with the metabolism of this medication, and cimetidine, praziquantel, and dexamethasone may increase its blood concentration. Conversely, ritonavir, phenytoin, carbamazepine, and phenobarbital may lower its blood concentration, so caution is necessary. Rarely, side effects such as fever, itching, or hair loss may occur. It is crucial not to use this medication during pregnancy, especially in the early stages, and women of childbearing potential should confirm their pregnancy status before starting treatment and use effective birth control methods during the treatment period and for 3 days after the last dose. This medication may occasionally affect blood test results, leading to decreased white blood cell counts or elevated liver enzyme levels, necessitating regular testing. In case of overdose, symptomatic treatment and general supportive care are required, and neurological symptoms may arise due to inflammatory responses after the treatment of certain parasitic infections, so immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is essential if such symptoms occur.
