Adult dose

For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by telmisartan alone, it should be taken once a day with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to adjust the doses of each component separately before switching to this medication with fixed doses. When clinically appropriate, direct switching from monotherapy to this medication may be considered. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 40/12.5 mg may be given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 40 mg of telmisartan alone. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 80/12.5 mg may be given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 80 mg of telmisartan alone. - Telmisartan/Hydrochlorothiazide combination 80/25 mg may be given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with a combination of 80 mg of telmisartan and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide either as monotherapy or as a combination. Before initiating therapy with this medication, sodium depletion or hypovolemia should be corrected. Patients with renal impairment: No dose adjustment is necessary in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. This medication should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min). Regular monitoring of renal function is recommended. Patients with liver impairment: This medication should be administered with caution to patients with mild to moderate liver impairment. Do not exceed 40/12.5 mg daily. It should not be administered to patients with severe liver impairment (refer to precautions for use 2). Thiazide diuretics should be used with caution in patients with liver dysfunction. Elderly: No dose adjustments are necessary. Children: The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children under 18 years of age.

The hydrochlorothiazide component may cause the skin to become sensitive to sunlight, so sun exposure should be avoided and skin conditions should be monitored regularly. This medication has blood pressure-lowering effects and may cause side effects such as dizziness, hypotension, irregular heart rhythms, etc. It is important to regularly check electrolyte levels and kidney function during use. Interactions may occur when combined with other antihypertensive drugs, lithium, potassium supplements, etc., so consultation with a doctor is essential. Caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. In case of overdose, hypotension, electrolyte imbalances, dehydration, etc., may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. Its safety in children has not been established, so it is advisable not to use it. This medication should be stored away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children, and it is preferable to open the packaging just before taking it.
