Efficacy & effects

Improvement in control of essential hypertension through combination of amlodipine and valsartan

  • Essential hypertension
View approved original text

Essential hypertension often makes it difficult to maintain blood pressure within the normal range. Amlodipine and valsartan each have effects of dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. However, there are cases where controlling blood pressure with a single medication is insufficient. In such cases, using both medications together can complement each other to control blood pressure more effectively. This treatment method helps reduce the risk of complications from high blood pressure and improves cardiovascular health. Therefore, it is used in the treatment of essential hypertension when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or valsartan.
