Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to specific components or have hypersensitivity to H2 receptor antagonists. Also, since it contains lactose, patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take this medication. Patients with a history of drug allergy, those with renal or liver dysfunction, patients with heart diseases, and the elderly should use this medication with caution. This medication can rarely cause serious side effects, including allergic reactions, blood cell reductions, cardiac rhythm abnormalities, liver dysfunction, kidney problems, skin diseases, muscle damage, consciousness impairment, or seizures, and if such symptoms occur, discontinuation and consultation with healthcare personnel are necessary. Common side effects may include dyspepsia, skin rash, blood pressure changes, headaches, drowsiness, insomnia, and cough, and if these symptoms appear, you should inform your doctor. During treatment, carefully monitor changes in symptoms, and if there is no effect or side effects are severe, other treatments may be considered. This medication dissolves in the mouth but is not absorbed through the mucosa, so it must be swallowed with water. Particularly for patients undergoing dialysis, caution is needed when using this medication in conjunction with phosphate binders as it may affect drug efficacy. There may be interactions with other medications, and efficacy may decrease when taken with antifungals or certain chemotherapeutic agents, so consultation with a physician or pharmacist is required. Elderly patients may have increased drug concentration due to decreased renal function, so dosage adjustments or changes in dosing intervals may be necessary. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been established, so it should only be taken when absolutely necessary during pregnancy, and nursing mothers are advised to discontinue breastfeeding. The safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution should be exercised when used in pediatric patients. Finally, since this medication can mask symptoms of gastric cancer, it is important to confirm the malignancy after ensuring the condition is benign.
