Improvement of gastric ulcers and upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and improvement of gastric mucosal lesions
This medication is used for the treatment of upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, peptic ulcers, acute stress ulcers, and hemorrhagic gastritis. It is also effective for gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It helps improve gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, redness, swelling) that occur during the acute exacerbation of acute gastritis and chronic gastritis. Overall, it is used to alleviate inflammation and bleeding symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract to restore a healthy gastric mucosal condition.
Take 20mg orally twice a day (after breakfast, after dinner, or at bedtime) or take 40mg orally once a day (at bedtime). In cases of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, treatment is usually started with injection, and after it becomes possible to take orally, switch to oral administration. For the treatment of gastric mucosal lesions in acute gastritis and exacerbation of chronic gastritis, take 10mg orally twice a day (after breakfast, after dinner, or at bedtime).
This medication should not be used by individuals who have had allergic reactions to specific ingredients or similar medications. Furthermore, since it contains lactose, individuals with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic problems should also avoid taking this medication. Patients with kidney or liver function problems, those with heart disease, and the elderly should use this medication with special caution, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. While taking this medication, one may experience various serious side effects such as allergic reactions, severe blood abnormalities, skin diseases, liver function abnormalities, muscle damage, heart side effects, and kidney issues; therefore, symptoms should be closely monitored, and if abnormalities occur, one should consult a physician immediately. This medication dissolves in the mouth but is not absorbed through the oral mucosa, so it is advisable to swallow it with water. Patients undergoing hemodialysis should be cautious when taking this medication along with certain phosphate binders, as it may reduce its effectiveness. Additionally, there may be interactions with other medications, so it is important to inform the doctor, especially when taking antifungal agents or certain anticancer drugs. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of taking this medication, and breastfeeding women are advised to discontinue breastfeeding. Due to insufficient safety confirmation, it is best to avoid use in children. Finally, this medication may mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should only be used after confirming that it is not gastric cancer.
Shock, hypersensitivity (anaphylaxis, respiratory distress, generalized flushing, angioedema, urticaria), pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell's syndrome, liver dysfunction, jaundice, rhabdomyolysis, QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, altered consciousness, seizures, interstitial nephritis, acute renal failure, interstitial pneumonia, heart failure
