Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or its ingredients should not take it. In patients with orthostatic hypotension, a sudden drop in blood pressure may worsen their symptoms, so it should not be administered. Patients with severely impaired liver function should avoid it as the blood concentration of the medication may increase. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe renal impairment as the blood concentration of the medication may rise. Older patients should start with a lower dose and monitor the condition due to the possibility of reduced kidney function. Patients taking PDE5 inhibitors that dilate blood vessels should be cautious of the risk of lowered blood pressure when taking this medication concurrently. Patients taking medications that inhibit hepatic drug metabolism may also experience increased drug concentration, necessitating careful administration. Patients on antihypertensive medications should also be cautious as there is a risk of excessively low blood pressure. Patients already on alpha-1 blockers like this medication typically do not take them together but should do so with great care if necessary. Patients with previous experiences of loss of consciousness while urinating need strict caution when taking this medication. Taking this medication can cause dizziness or loss of consciousness; if these symptoms occur, stop the medication immediately and consult a physician. Neurological symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, headache, insomnia, and nervousness may also occur. Cardiovascular abnormalities like increased heart rate or low blood pressure have been reported. If allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or urticaria occur, stop taking the medication immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, and diarrhea can also occur. Liver function anomalies or jaundice symptoms may appear, so consult a physician if unusual symptoms occur. Various side effects have also been reported, including nasal congestion, nosebleeds, edema, gynecomastia, persistent erection, infection, pain, and blurred vision. In case of overdose, there is a risk of excessively low blood pressure, so prescribed doses should be strictly followed. As blood pressure can drop when standing up, it is advisable to change positions slowly. This medication is a symptomatic treatment and does not treat the underlying cause; if it is ineffective, other treatment methods should be considered. Caution is necessary during activities such as driving or working at heights due to the potential for dizziness or drowsiness. Since prostate cancer can exhibit similar symptoms to benign prostatic hyperplasia, verify the absence of prostate cancer before administration. This medication can rarely cause persistent erections, so consult a physician immediately if unusual symptoms occur. Patients taking alpha-1 blockers should inform their physician before undergoing cataract or glaucoma surgery as complications may arise during surgery. Patients with allergies to sulfonamide drugs should use caution when taking this medication. This medication may lower blood pressure when taken with other antihypertensive medications, necessitating dose adjustments and caution. When taken with medications that have vasodilatory effects, the risk of hypotension increases, so consult with a physician. There may also be interactions with anesthetics, thus informing your physician before surgery is crucial. When taken together with specific antibiotics or antifungals that affect hepatic metabolism, caution is warranted as this may increase the medication's concentration. Caution is also needed when taken together with anticoagulants like warfarin. This medication's safety and effectiveness have not been established for women; thus, pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid it. It is not used in children under 18 years due to insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy. Older adults may have reduced kidney function, so starting at a lower dose and adjusting according to their condition is necessary. This medication should be taken out of its packaging; do not chew or open the capsule to take the contents. Chewing can alter the sustained release characteristics of the medication, affecting its efficacy. It should always be swallowed with water, and it is advisable not to take it while lying down. Keep this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to other containers to ensure safety.
