Depending on circumstances, it can also be taken between 4 hours and 30 minutes before sexual activity. The dose may be adjusted based on efficacy and tolerability. Precautions

This drug can cause blood vessel dilation and may lower blood pressure; thus, taking it with nitrate preparations or nitric oxide (NO) donors may lead to excessively low blood pressure. Therefore, doctors must confirm whether the patient is taking such medications before prescribing this drug and should exercise caution in concurrent usage. Patients with cardiovascular diseases should undergo thorough evaluation of their heart condition before taking this drug, and those at high risk regarding cardiovascular issues are advised against engaging in sexual activities, thus avoiding this medication as well. This drug can temporarily lower blood pressure; therefore, patients with unstable blood pressure or those who may experience heart strain should be evaluated carefully before use. Patients with a history of life-threatening arrhythmias, heart failure, unstable angina, hypotension, or hypertension, as well as those with pigmentary retinopathy must also take caution in its use. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours or is accompanied by pain (priapism), seek immediate medical help as neglect may lead to permanent damage. This medication can be risky for patients with specific heart diseases due to its blood vessel dilating effect; such patients should avoid use or use it only under strict medical supervision. Co-administration with certain antiviral agents like ritonavir may significantly increase the blood concentration of this drug, necessitating dose adjustments. Patients allergic to this drug or taking nitrate preparations, as well as those for whom sexual activity is not recommended due to cardiovascular conditions, severe liver failure, uncontrolled hypertension, recent history of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, pigmentary retinopathy, users of other erectile dysfunction treatments, and those under 18 years of age or females should not use this drug. Patients with penile deformities, bleeding disorders, elderly individuals, those with renal failure or liver failure, and those taking CYP3A4 inhibitors should use this medication cautiously, and starting with a lower dose is advised.
