Improvement in blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication helps effectively lower and control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.
The recommended dosage for this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning) if possible.
The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so the use of this medication is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Therefore, it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with allergies to this medication's active ingredients or similar drugs, pregnant or nursing women, patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, and those with certain heart conditions should not take this medication. Patients with insufficient sodium or body fluids may experience hypotension, so it is important to assess their condition carefully before administration and monitor blood pressure closely during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels should be cautious when taking potassium-increasing medications alongside this drug and should have their potassium levels checked regularly. Patients with kidney problems or those who have had a kidney transplant should monitor kidney function closely while using this medication, as there is a risk of rapid deterioration of kidney function. If symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue occur during treatment with this medication, it should be discontinued immediately and medical attention sought. Patients with heart failure or those recovering from a myocardial infarction should regularly check kidney function and blood pressure while taking this medication and take appropriate measures in case of side effects. Patients with acute myocardial infarction or certain valvular diseases should exercise special caution when taking this medication. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist if other medications are being taken. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness and fatigue may occur. Overdosing on this medication can lead to severe hypotension or cardiac arrhythmias, so the dosage must be adhered to precisely, and immediate medical attention should be sought in case of overdose. Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients or those under 18 years of age, so its use is not recommended in these groups. Elderly patients can use the same dosage as adults, but their condition should be monitored closely. Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, angioedema, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, jaundice, very severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, syncope, hypotension, dyspnea, vasculitis, renal failure, kidney damage, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, serum sickness including hypersensitivity, hepatitis, and hepatic dysfunction.
