This medication is used to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, and various forms of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It is also effective for bleeding due to peptic ulcers, acute stress ulcers, and hemorrhagic gastritis. It helps with gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It also improves lesions such as erosion, bleeding, erythema, and edema of the gastric mucosa that occur during acute exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis. It is used for the treatment of a wide range of gastrointestinal diseases and improvement of gastric mucosal lesions.

How to take

Adult dose

1. Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who have had an allergic reaction to this drug or other similar medications. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so individuals with a genetic condition that prevents lactose digestion should not take it. Particular caution should be exercised by individuals who have experienced an allergic reaction to the drug, those with impaired kidney function, those with heart conditions, those with compromised liver function, elderly individuals, etc. Individuals with an allergy to the dye contained in this drug should also use it with caution. This drug can rarely cause serious side effects, including acute allergic reactions, decreased blood cell count, severe skin reactions, liver dysfunction, muscle damage, heart rhythm abnormalities, consciousness disturbances, nephritis, and pneumonia; if any abnormal symptoms occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be performed while taking this medication. This medication dissolves in the mouth but is not absorbed through the mucous membranes, so it must be swallowed with water. Patients undergoing hemodialysis should be cautious as the drug's effectiveness may be reduced due to interactions with other medications. This drug may interact when taken with certain antifungals or some anticancer medications, so it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist when taking other medications. Elderly patients are more likely to have impaired kidney function, which may cause higher blood concentrations of this drug; therefore, the dosage should be reduced or the dosing interval increased for cautious use. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor thoroughly before using this medication, and nursing women are advised to stop breastfeeding, as the drug may pass into breast milk. The safety of this medication in children has not been sufficiently established, so caution should be taken in its use.
