Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This drug can be used together with diet and exercise therapy to help control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can also be used alone, and when there is difficulty in blood sugar control in patients with no prior diabetes treatment experience, it is administered in combination with metformin. It can be combined with metformin or sulfonylurea when blood sugar control is not satisfactory with monotherapy. Additionally, it can be used as an add-on therapy for patients who are on insulin therapy but still have insufficient blood sugar control. If blood sugar control remains difficult even after combination therapy of sulfonylurea and metformin or empagliflozin and metformin, this drug can be used in combination to enhance control. Therefore, this drug is effectively used at various stages of treatment to assist in blood sugar control.
