Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is planned or confirmed. This medication should not be administered to patients with certain conditions. For example, patients with anuria, those allergic to sulfonamide derivatives, those with severe liver disease or kidney disease, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Additionally, special caution is required for patients with low blood pressure or poor kidney function, those with electrolyte imbalances, patients with hyperuricemia or gout, and elderly patients when using this medication. This medication has blood-lowering effects which may cause dizziness or drowsiness, thus caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery. During treatment, electrolyte levels in the blood and kidney function should be regularly monitored for abnormalities, and care should be taken to ensure potassium levels do not become too high or too low. Furthermore, this medication can interact with other drugs, especially potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics, and when used in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, the possibility of worsening kidney function should be considered. Due to the hydrochlorothiazide component, the skin may become sensitive to sunlight, so proper protective measures should be taken during sun exposure. It is preferable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding to avoid this medication, and during breastfeeding, either breastfeeding should be stopped or the medication discontinued. Overdosage may result in hypotension, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, etc., so immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container to maintain quality.
