Candida vulvovaginitis is a type of vaginitis primarily caused by fungal infection. This medication is used to relieve symptoms of Candida vulvovaginitis and to treat the infection.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Usually, 100 mg of Clotrimazole is inserted deeply into the vagina once a day at bedtime for 6 consecutive days. For short-term therapy, usually, 200 mg of Clotrimazole is inserted deeply into the vagina once a day at bedtime for 3 consecutive days. For a single day, usually, 500 mg of Clotrimazole is inserted deeply into the vagina once at bedtime.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who have a history of allergic reactions to the active ingredient or any of the components. It is important not to use this medication concurrently with specific immunosuppressants such as Tacrolimus or Sirolimus. Using this medication with these drugs may increase their blood concentrations and cause side effects. Therefore, it is crucial to monitor blood concentrations during treatment. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a physician before using this medication. Although animal studies have not shown significant problems, it should be used cautiously under a doctor's guidance during pregnancy, and it is advisable to avoid the use of intravaginal devices.
