This medication is used to treat gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, and to relieve the symptoms of erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective for long-term maintenance therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease. For patients with gastrointestinal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori, it is treated in combination with antibiotics. Finally, it can also be helpful in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Overall, it is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

How to take

Adult dose

For gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers: Administer 10 mg orally once daily, with the possibility of increasing to 20 mg once daily depending on symptoms. Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients who have allergies or hypersensitivity to certain ingredients. Patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics should be cautious. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this medication. Patients with impaired liver function or elderly patients should be more careful when using this drug. This drug may cause allergic reactions such as skin rashes, itching, or urticaria; if these symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately. It is important to have regular blood tests and liver function tests to check for any abnormal signs. Long-term use of this medication may increase the risk of fractures, so caution is required. Hypomagnesemia, which is a decrease in blood magnesium levels, may rarely occur, necessitating regular blood tests when taken long-term or in combination with certain drugs. This drug strongly inhibits gastric acid secretion, which may slightly increase the risk of gastrointestinal bacterial infections; if diarrhea persists, consult a doctor. Caution is advised as drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery. It may interact with other medications, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist, especially when taken with antibiotics, antiviral drugs, or warfarin. The tablets should be swallowed whole without chewing or crushing and stored out of reach of children. It is safer not to take this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
