View approved original text

This medication is used as a treatment to control blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, and is used in conjunction with dietary and exercise therapy. It can be administered as monotherapy for patients receiving treatment for the first time, and if blood glucose control is difficult with monotherapy, it is combined with metformin. Additionally, if sufficient blood glucose control cannot be achieved with sulfonylurea, metformin, thiazolidinedione, or insulin monotherapy, this medication can be used in combination to enhance treatment efficacy. It can also be added if blood glucose control is difficult even with multiple medications. This medication helps with blood glucose management across various treatment stages, making it effective in the treatment of diabetes.
