Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day, such as in the morning. For patients with severe renal impairment, treatment should be initiated at a lower dose and gradually increased. In the case of liver impairment, the daily dose of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg. In elderly patients, the standard amlodipine dosing is recommended.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years of age, and the use of this medication is not recommended.

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus if used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, and should not be taken by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. This medication should not be administered to patients with specific conditions. For example, patients allergic to this medication or similar ingredients, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with obstructive biliary disease, severe liver impairment, serious heart problems, hypotensive patients, unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction, and diabetic patients with specific kidney diseases should not take this medication. Caution is advised when using this medication in certain patient populations, such as those with primary aldosteronism, patients with aortic or mitral stenosis, patients with liver diseases, gastrointestinal disease patients, renal artery hypertension patients, patients undergoing dialysis, elderly patients, and those using other medications affecting the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Common side effects like dizziness or edema may occur while using this medication, and in rare cases, fainting or serious allergic reactions can occur. Additionally, a decrease in blood pressure, gastrointestinal disturbances, liver function abnormalities, skin rashes, myalgia, and renal function impairment have been reported, thus, if any abnormal symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is required. The use of this medication during pregnancy may have serious effects on the fetus; therefore, if planning to become pregnant or upon confirmation of pregnancy, immediate discontinuation and switching to a safer treatment option is recommended. It is also advisable for breastfeeding women not to take this medication. As this medication lowers blood pressure, patients at risk for hypotension should check their fluid or salt status before taking it, and appropriate measures should be taken immediately if hypotension symptoms appear. Due to the risk of hyperkalemia, blood potassium levels should be monitored regularly, and caution is advised when taking potassium supplements or potassium-containing medications. Patients with impaired renal function may experience changes in kidney function while using this medication; therefore, frequent blood tests to monitor kidney function are recommended. For patients with heart disease, the risk of angina or myocardial infarction may increase after taking this medication; thus, attention to changes in symptoms is necessary. This medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness; therefore, caution is advised when driving or operating hazardous machinery. There may be interactions with other medications when taken together, so it is essential to inform your healthcare professional of any other medications you are taking, especially when combined with specific heart medications, diuretics, lithium, warfarin, grapefruit juice, etc. In case of overdose, symptoms like hypotension, cardiac arrhythmias, dizziness, and acute renal failure may occur; therefore, immediate medical attention is required.

Serious side effects

Urticaria, severe swelling (angioedema), tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the oral/eye mucosa, angioedema, toxic skin rash, urticaria, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, angioedema (with fatal outcomes), shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by coughing and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), very severe general symptoms.

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a container that protects it from light. Additionally, it should be stored at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C, in conditions that are not too hot or too cold, for optimal effectiveness.
