Relief of painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders (cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder)
This medicine helps alleviate painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders. It is particularly used for conditions such as cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain.
As this medicine is a sustained-release tablet, it should be taken whole without crushing, splitting, or chewing. The adult dosage is 1 tablet (75mg of eperisone hydrochloride) taken orally after meals, twice a day. Adjustments may be made according to age and symptoms.
This medicine should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to it. It is also not safe to administer to patients with severe myasthenia gravis. Caution is advised for patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity or hepatic dysfunction as this medicine may worsen liver function. There may be rare allergic reactions during the course of treatment; if symptoms such as redness, itching, hives, swelling, or difficulty breathing occur, treatment should be stopped immediately and appropriate care should be sought. Serious skin reactions like toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome) or mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome) can occur, so if symptoms like fever, erythema, blistering, itching, conjunctival injection, or stomatitis develop, usage must be discontinued immediately. Regular monitoring is necessary for changes in liver and kidney function, and treatment should be stopped if any abnormal signs occur. Various adverse reactions like dizziness, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and abdominal pain have been reported during treatment; if symptoms are severe, consultation with a physician is recommended. If weakness, staggering, or drowsiness occurs during treatment, it is advisable to reduce the dosage or stop treatment. Drowsiness or decreased attention may occur while taking this medicine, so it is advised to avoid driving cars or operating dangerous machinery. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medicine, and breastfeeding women should preferably avoid taking it. If unavoidable, breastfeeding should be discontinued while taking this medication. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so it should be used carefully in pediatric patients. Elderly patients may have reduced physiological function, so caution is needed in adjusting dosages.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medicine should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent air or moisture from entering, at a safe temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. This will help maintain the effectiveness of the medicine for a longer period.
