Improvement of chronic hepatitis (elevated ALT)
This medication is used for patients with chronic hepatitis who have persistently elevated ALT levels.
As biphenyldimethyl dicarboxylate, take 25 ~ 50 mg orally, three times daily. Adjust dosage appropriately according to symptoms.
This medication should not be used by patients who have had allergic reactions or are hypersensitive to any of its components. Additionally, since this medication contains lactose, patients with a genetic disease that prevents the digestion of lactose should not take this medication. Patients with liver diseases such as chronic active hepatitis or liver cirrhosis should use this medication with caution. Taking this medication may cause side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and skin rashes, which can be alleviated by taking allergy medications concurrently. Occasionally, temporary jaundice may occur, but stopping the medication or using drugs to treat jaundice can improve symptoms. Sometimes, nausea or abdominal distension may occur but typically resolve soon. This medication can improve one of the liver function indicators, ALT levels, when taken alongside a drug called Inosine. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding should not take this medication. Elderly patients may experience a decline in physical function, so caution should be exercised in adjusting the dosage. Liver function test results may temporarily change during the course of this medication, but they can return to normal upon cessation or restarting the medication. Keep this medication out of reach of children, and it should be stored in its original container; transferring it to another container may decrease its effectiveness or increase the risk of misuse, so it should remain properly sealed in the original container.
Transient jaundice
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a container that blocks light. Additionally, it is recommended to store the medication at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage helps maintain the medication's effectiveness for a longer period.
