This medication helps relieve symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders such as gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, gastritis, and excessive gastric acid by neutralizing stomach acid. It also improves unpleasant symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and belching, thereby facilitating digestive function. Therefore, this medicine is used for improving various gastrointestinal-related symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As Almagate, take 1 g three times a day, chewing and taking orally 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. If necessary, an additional dose may be taken before bedtime.

Child dose

Children aged 12 years and older should follow the same dosage as adults.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients. Patients with Alzheimer’s disease or hemorrhoids are also advised not to use this medication. Patients with edema due to excessive fluid retention, eclampsia, diarrhea, or unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding should not take this medication. This medication should not be taken concurrently with tetracycline antibiotics, as the two drugs may interfere with each other's absorption. If taking other medications, consult a physician or pharmacist as this medication may affect drug absorption or excretion, and exercise caution when taking it. In particular, it is advisable to space doses of certain medications such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ulcer treatments, and digitalis compounds by 2 to 3 hours. Patients with poor kidney function should consult a specialist before use, as the ingredients of this medication may accumulate in the kidneys, and it is not recommended for patients with severe kidney impairment. Those with weak physical strength or inadequate phosphorus intake or malabsorption issues should be cautious as prolonged use may affect bone health. Elderly patients, those with symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should consult a specialist before taking this medication. If constipation or diarrhea occurs during use, or if symptoms do not improve after 2 weeks, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. Always adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration, and parental supervision is required when administering to children. Store the medication out of reach of children, and keep it in its original container, away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place.
