Precautions

This medication should not be used by anyone with an allergy to this medication or its ingredients. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so individuals with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, congenital lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid it. Patients with liver diseases such as chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis should use this medication with caution. Side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, or skin rash may occur but may disappear with the use of antihistamines. Occasionally, temporary jaundice may develop, but symptoms improve with medication cessation or treatment for jaundice. Nausea or abdominal distention may occur rarely but often resolve quickly. Taking this medication with inosine may improve ALT levels in liver function tests. It is recommended that pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and lactating women avoid this medication for safety. Elderly individuals may have weakened physical functions, so a reduced dose or careful monitoring while using this medication is necessary. While liver function test levels usually do not rise significantly with this medication, ceasing treatment may cause levels to increase, and symptoms may improve upon resuming the medication. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container with the lid tightly closed. Transferring the medication to another container may lead to improper use or deterioration in quality.
