This medication is used for various joint diseases such as chronic polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also helps alleviate painful swelling and inflammation caused by trauma or postoperative conditions. It is additionally used as an adjunct in the treatment of infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever, improving symptoms. It is effectively utilized in managing inflammation and pain related to joints.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet (Dexibuprofen 300mg) orally 2 to 4 times a day. However, do not exceed 1,200mg of Dexibuprofen in one day.

Precautions

This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks per day; therefore, consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential. This drug may affect the cardiovascular system and increase the risk of serious cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Caution is particularly needed for patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases or risk factors, and immediate consultation with medical personnel should be sought if symptoms arise. This medication can increase the risk of serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation. Caution should be exercised when used by elderly individuals or those with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, and any gastrointestinal symptoms should be reported to medical personnel immediately. This drug should not be taken in cases of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe liver or kidney impairment, severe heart failure, severe hypertension, or a history of asthma. Taking this medication along with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and reduce efficacy, so co-administration should be avoided. During breastfeeding, this medication may be transmitted through breast milk and could cause adverse reactions in infants; thus, breastfeeding should be discontinued or the medication stopped. Dizziness or fatigue may occur while on this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Individuals with blood disorders, liver or kidney diseases, hypertension, heart failure, or elderly patients, as well as women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, should consult healthcare professionals before taking this medication. If severe adverse reactions such as skin rash, shortness of breath, severe headache, or gastrointestinal bleeding symptoms occur while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately, and medical personnel should be consulted. Routine blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are needed with long-term use, and discontinuation may be required if any abnormal findings are observed. After 20 weeks of pregnancy, this medication may affect fetal kidney function, so the minimum dose should be used for the shortest duration, and amniotic fluid levels should be monitored during prolonged use. In case of overdose, immediate medical attention is required, and prompt treatment is necessary even if no symptoms are present. Keep this medication out of reach of children, store it in a tightly closed container avoiding direct sunlight in a cool, dry place. Transferring the medication to another container may negatively affect its quality, so caution is advised.

This medication should not be used in conjunction with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Anticoagulants, corticosteroids, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, coumarin anticoagulants (like warfarin), baclofen, immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus), thrombolytics, ticlopidine.
