Efficacy & effects

Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension.

  • Essential hypertension
View approved original text

Essential hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, may be treated with combination therapy when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or telmisartan. These medications effectively lower blood pressure, reduce stress on the heart and blood vessels, and help decrease the risk of complications. Thus, these medications are used for patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure.
