1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: Administer naproxen sodium 275-550 mg orally twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout: For the initial dose, administer 825 mg orally and continue with 275 mg orally every 8 hours until the attack subsides. 3. Skeletal muscle disorders, postoperative pain, pain after tooth extraction, dysmenorrhea, tendinitis, bursitis: For the initial dose, administer 550 mg orally followed by 275 mg every 6-8 hours. The total daily dose should not exceed 1350 mg. 4. Migraine: For the initial dose, administer 825 mg orally. If necessary, 275-550 mg may be administered additionally; however, this should be done 30 minutes after the initial dose. The total daily dose should not exceed 1350 mg. Adjust as appropriate based on age and symptoms.

This medication is effectively used for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, acute gout, and dysmenorrhea. It is also helpful for bursitis, skeletal muscle disorders (strain, contusion, trauma, lumbago), postoperative pain, migraine, and pain after tooth extraction. In other words, it is used for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with various joint and muscle disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: Administer naproxen sodium 275-550 mg orally twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout: For the initial dose, administer 825 mg orally and continue with 275 mg orally every 8 hours until the attack subsides. 3. Skeletal muscle disorders, postoperative pain, pain after tooth extraction, dysmenorrhea, tendinitis, bursitis: For the initial dose, administer 550 mg orally followed by 275 mg every 6-8 hours. Precautions

This medication may pose a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding for individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol per day; thus, consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential. This medication can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, so individuals with a history of heart disease or stroke or risk factors should exercise increased caution. Serious side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation may occur; therefore, patients, particularly the elderly or those with a history of gastrointestinal disease, should take this medicine carefully. Those with certain conditions such as peptic ulcers, severe liver or kidney disorders, severe blood abnormalities, and severe hypertension should avoid use of this medication. Should any signs of allergic reactions, gastrointestinal bleeding, or symptoms indicative of liver or kidney dysfunction occur during treatment, immediate discontinuation of the medication and consultation with medical personnel is required. When used concurrently with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or certain medications, there may be an increased risk of side effects due to drug interactions; hence caution is necessary during combination therapy. During pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester, the use of this medication should be avoided as it may harm the fetus, and it is advisable not to administer it while breastfeeding. Safety has not been established for children, especially infants under 2 years of age, and use is not recommended. Elderly patients are at a heightened risk for side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, so it should be administered at the minimum dose with careful monitoring of their condition. This medication may prolong bleeding time; therefore, inform healthcare personnel of its use when undergoing bleeding-related tests. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting may appear, and appropriate treatment should be sought immediately at a medical facility. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and it is important to maintain safety and quality by not transferring it to other containers.
