This medication inhibits thrombosis in major cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, and unstable angina, preventing symptom deterioration. It also helps prevent thrombosis after coronary artery bypass surgery or percutaneous coronary intervention, reducing the risk of recurrence. It aids in reducing cardiovascular risk in high-risk patients with underlying factors such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, and diabetes. Thus, this medication is effectively used for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
(Enteric-coated tablet) Adults take 1 tablet once daily before meals with plenty of water. (Enteric-coated capsule) Adults take 1 capsule once daily before meals with plenty of water.
This medication can increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding if taken by individuals who consume more than three alcoholic drinks daily. It is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Certain patients are contraindicated from taking this medication. For example, patients with allergies to this drug or similar ingredients, peptic ulcer, aspirin-induced asthma, hemophilia, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart failure, bleeding tendencies, and pregnant women in the third trimester should not take this medication. Additionally, patients with kidney or liver issues, cardiovascular circulation disorders, blood disorders, bronchial asthma, preoperative patients, children under age 3, patients with allergy history, elderly patients, those taking anticoagulants, and patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency should use this medication cautiously. This medication can cause allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, rash, swelling, and hives; thus, it should be immediately discontinued if any abnormal symptoms appear. Rarely, serious skin reactions like toxic epidermal necrolysis and Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur and skin conditions should be carefully monitored. Hematological side effects such as anemia, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia can occur, so immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if abnormal symptoms arise. Gastrointestinal side effects may include loss of appetite, heartburn, stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting, and prolonged use carries the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers. Neurological symptoms such as ringing in the ears, dizziness, headache, and agitation may occur, necessitating a reduction or cessation of the dosage if these symptoms manifest. This medication may impact liver and kidney function, requiring caution for patients with liver or kidney disorders. This medication poses a risk of Reye's syndrome after chickenpox or influenza infection in children under 14 years, so it should be administered with caution only when absolutely necessary. For those using this medication for chronic diseases, regular blood tests and liver function tests should be conducted to manage any abnormalities appropriately. When used for acute conditions, the dosage should be administered based on the levels of pain and fever, and long-term use of the same medication should be avoided. This medication can increase bleeding tendencies, so extra caution is necessary before and after surgeries, and overdose can lead to severe toxicity symptoms. There are various drug interactions, so it's essential to consult a doctor when taken with anticoagulants, hypoglycemic agents, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen.
