Improvement of hypertension and angina pectoris
This medication is used for hypertension and angina pectoris.
Hypertension: The initial adult dose is 50 mg once daily alone or in combination with a diuretic administered orally, and if no effect is observed within 1 to 2 weeks, the dosage may be increased to 100 mg once daily. Do not exceed 100 mg per day. Angina pectoris: 100 mg daily divided into 1 to 2 doses, and do not exceed 100 mg per day. Patients with renal impairment: Creatinine clearance of 15 to 35 ml/min/1.73㎡ is 50 mg daily.
This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals with allergies to the components or additives of this medication, those with severe asthma or chronic lung disease, or those with severe bradycardia or heart conduction disorders may be at risk if administered. Patients with severe heart failure, hypotension, cardiac issues due to pulmonary hypertension, and hyperthyroidism should also not use this medication. Additionally, individuals with certain genetic issues like lactose intolerance should exercise caution. This medication should be used cautiously in patients who may experience asthma or bronchospasm, those at risk for heart failure, patients with uncontrolled diabetes, and those with severely impaired liver or kidney function. While taking this medication, be aware that adverse reactions such as skin rashes or itching, dry eyes or vision changes, slow or irregular heartbeat, dizziness or fatigue, indigestion, and breathing difficulties may occur. During long-term use, regular checks of heart function, blood pressure, and liver and kidney function should be conducted, and one should not stop taking this medication suddenly but gradually reduce the dosage according to a doctor's instructions. Moreover, this medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking any other medications, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Special caution is needed when used together with blood pressure medications, diabetes medications, calcium channel blockers, and anesthetics. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding must consult a doctor before taking this medication, as it may affect the fetus or newborn. Safety has not been established for children, and elderly patients should start at a low dose and be treated cautiously. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as reduced heart rate, hypotension, breathing difficulties, and hypoglycemia may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool place below 25 degrees Celsius.
