Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to relieve acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.
It is recommended to administer an initial dose of 1 tablet, followed by intervals of at least 12 hours, and not to exceed 4 tablets in a day. Avoid prolonged administration beyond necessity and conduct regular monitoring in cases where long-term administration is required. Elderly patients should normally receive an adult dose, but for those over 75, an interval of at least 12 hours should be observed.
This medication may cause liver damage if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks a day, so it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. If severe skin reactions such as rashes or blisters occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and notify healthcare personnel. Since it contains tramadol, exceeding the recommended dosage may increase the risk of seizures, and the risk of seizures may also increase when taken with certain antidepressants or other central nervous system medications. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis may occur, so if symptoms such as difficulty breathing or hives develop, consult healthcare personnel immediately. Administering this medication to patients with severe asthma may complicate breathing; therefore, it should be provided in a facility equipped with medical equipment, and care should be taken with patients who have a risk of respiratory depression. Taking this medication with alcohol, sedatives, or sleeping pills, which are central nervous system depressants, can lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma; caution is necessary in such cases. Patients with head injuries or increased intracranial pressure should be specially monitored as this medication may further elevate brain pressure. It may cause dependence similar to opioid medications, so long-term use should be monitored for the potential of developing dependence. Patients with poor liver function should consult a doctor before using this medication, as one of its components, acetaminophen, may worsen liver damage. Some individuals may metabolize this medication at an unusually fast rate, which could lead to excessively strong effects, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, requiring caution. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years old or to those below 18 years of age after certain surgeries, and adolescents aged 12 to 18 should also be avoided in the presence of risk factors. Elderly patients or those at risk of hyponatremia should periodically check for the occurrence of hyponatremia during administration of this medication. This medication should not be administered to individuals who are hypersensitive to its components or are experiencing central nervous system drug intoxication, severe respiratory depression, head injuries, or are taking MAO inhibitors. It is also prohibited for severely impaired patients of liver, kidney, or heart functions, nursing mothers, specific asthmatic patients, and patients with uncontrolled epilepsy. Abrupt discontinuation of this medication may result in withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, sweating, and nausea; therefore, the dosage should be gradually reduced according to the doctor’s instructions. Be careful as drowsiness or dizziness may occur while driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, severe respiratory depression, liver damage, and seizures can occur, so immediate emergency measures should be taken, and professional medical assistance should be contacted.
