This medication is used to reduce fever caused by acute upper respiratory infections. It quickly and effectively controls fever and reduces discomfort for the patient. It also helps restore body temperature to the normal range for quick recovery.

Dosage and Administration

Children's dosage

For children over 6 months of age, this medication is taken at a dose of 0.4-0.6mL/kg (5-7mg/kg of dexamethasone) every 4-6 hours as needed, with a maximum of 4 times a day (28mg/kg).

Precautions

This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks per day; therefore, it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. The ingredients in this medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases; thus, individuals with heart disease or risk factors should use it cautiously and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms appear. Serious gastrointestinal side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations may occur, so special caution is necessary for the elderly or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, and if symptoms are suspected, the medication should be discontinued immediately and treatment sought. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, bleeding tendencies, liver or kidney diseases, severe heart failure, severe hypertension, or allergies to the ingredients of this medication, and those with a history of asthma should not take this medication. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers or bleeding tendencies, liver or kidney diseases, heart failure, hypertension, allergic histories, autoimmune diseases, the elderly, and children should use this medication cautiously and consult a doctor if necessary. This medication may rarely cause severe side effects such as shock, blood disorders, severe gastrointestinal bleeding, skin rash, liver dysfunction, allergic reactions, auditory and visual impairment, and kidney damage; therefore, if symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be performed if taking this medication long term, and if adverse findings are detected, use should be discontinued. This medication may interact with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, alcohol, anticoagulants, diuretics, antihypertensives, aspirin, etc., so caution is needed when taking them together, and it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant women, especially in the later stages of pregnancy, should not take this medication as it may adversely affect the fetus; also, nursing mothers should discontinue breastfeeding or stop the medication.
