Precautions

This drug should not be taken by patients with inflammatory bowel disease, suspected bowel perforation, or bowel obstruction. It should also not be used when there is unexplained abdominal pain or if there is a hypersensitivity to this drug. During the use of this medication, prolonged use without a doctor's instruction should be avoided. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant and nursing mothers should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. If acute constipation is accompanied by pain, fever, or abdominal distention, one must consult a specialist. Caution is needed when taking this drug with other medications due to potential drug interactions. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur during use, especially in the elderly, where the risk of electrolyte imbalance or dehydration may arise. Rare hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, itching, and facial swelling may occur; if abnormal symptoms arise, stop taking the drug immediately and consult a professional. High-dose intake may temporarily cause diarrhea, so dose adjustment or temporary discontinuation may be necessary if symptoms are severe. Particularly cautious attention is required for elderly patients at high risk of electrolyte imbalance or patients with impaired liver or kidney functions. Chronic constipation may require professional treatment, so this medication should be considered a remedy for temporary symptom relief. There is a risk of aspiration with this medication, so caution is advised when used in children who have difficulty swallowing due to neurological issues. Those with a history of hypersensitivity reactions to drug components must verify prior to use. This medication contains sulfur dioxide, which may cause allergic reactions or bronchospasm; caution is necessary. Patients with the rare genetic disorder fructose intolerance should not take this medication. Additionally, as this medication contains saccharin as a sweetener, caution is needed for long-term use as it may affect health. Store out of reach of children and do not take medications that are past the expiration date. Keep the medication in its original container; transferring to other containers may risk deterioration of quality or misuse.
