How to take

The dosage of this medication should be determined based on the maximum recommended dosages of each ingredient, which is linagliptin 2.5 mg and metformin 1000 mg, and should not exceed this level, taking into consideration each patient's current therapy, efficacy, and tolerance. This medication is administered twice a day with meals. 1. Precautions

This medication may cause a rare side effect known as lactic acidosis, so it should not be used in patients with impaired kidney function or those with heart or liver issues. Additionally, patients with an allergy to any of the ingredients of this medication or certain diabetic conditions such as type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis should also refrain from using it. Elderly patients with diminished kidney function or those with weakened heart function should take special caution when using this medication, and regular monitoring of kidney function through blood tests is necessary. This medication may induce hypoglycemic symptoms; therefore, when taken alongside insulin or other antihyperglycemic agents, blood sugar levels should be monitored carefully. In the event of acute illnesses, surgeries, or radiation investigations, this medication should be temporarily discontinued, and it may be resumed once the condition stabilizes. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication, and it is also recommended that children under 10 years of age do not take it. During the course of this medication, alcohol consumption should be avoided, and regular checks may be necessary due to potential declines in vitamin B12 levels. Should severe abdominal pain, difficulty breathing, or muscle weakness occur, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs; therefore, patients should inform medical personnel about any other medications they are taking. When storing, keep it out of reach of children and avoid moisture.
