This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension when blood pressure control is insufficient with amlodipine or valsartan monotherapy alone. It helps to lower and control blood pressure more effectively, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and maintaining a healthy blood pressure state.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning). It is recommended to adjust the dosage with individual components (amlodipine or valsartan) first, but if blood pressure is not well controlled, treatment can be switched to this medication as follows: ㆍ5/80 mg: Given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 80 mg monotherapy.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and the administration of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients who are allergic to any of the active ingredients, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe renal or liver dysfunction, or patients with a history of certain heart diseases or angioedema. When administering to patients with low sodium or fluid levels, there may be a risk of hypotension; therefore, the patient's condition should be carefully evaluated before and during treatment, and medical supervision is necessary. Patients with high potassium levels should have frequent blood tests when taking this medication in combination with other potassium-increasing drugs, as potassium levels may rise further. Patients with renal issues, recent kidney transplant recipients, or those with a history of angioedema should exercise special caution when taking this medication and should discontinue use immediately if symptoms of angioedema occur. Patients with heart failure or those recovering from myocardial infarction should closely monitor renal function while on this medication, and it should be used with caution in severe heart failure patients. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive medications or specific drugs, so if the patient is taking any other medications, it is essential to inform the physician or pharmacist. Care should be taken when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age as its safety and efficacy have not been established.

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, mucosal pain of mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing, asthma attack, respiratory distress with cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), severe lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination issues.
