Precautions

This medication poses a risk of liver damage if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. This medication contains acetaminophen, and caution should be exercised if taken with other acetaminophen products to avoid exceeding the maximum daily dose, which can lead to liver damage. This medication should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to chlorzoxazone or acetaminophen, have experienced hypersensitivity reactions such as rash, itching, or swelling from this medication, or have previously exhibited asthma symptoms from this or other cold medications. If symptoms such as hives, swelling, chest tightness, pale complexion, cold sweat, or shortness of breath occur during use, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. Caution is needed if taken with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, or alcohol, as these may slow down the metabolism of acetaminophen, increasing the risk of hepatotoxicity. Patients with significantly compromised liver or kidney function, as well as those with a history of allergies, should use this medication cautiously. This medication may cause hypersensitivity reactions such as hives, redness, itching, and may rarely cause adverse effects such as liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal disturbances, drowsiness, and dizziness. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication if the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks, as discussed with a physician. Caution is advised when taken in combination with alcohol or central nervous system depressants, as side effects may be exacerbated. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Additionally, it is advisable not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality.
