This medication is used for the treatment of hypertension and for myocardial ischemia caused by stable angina or variant angina associated with cardiovascular issues. It helps alleviate symptoms by ensuring adequate blood and oxygen supply to the heart and improving heart health. Therefore, it is beneficial for effectively managing discomfort caused by hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

As esamlodipine, take 2.5 mg orally once daily, increasing to a maximum of 5 mg daily based on the patient's response. This medication should be taken with a sufficient amount of water.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals who have had an allergy to this medication, its ingredients, or similar classes of drugs should avoid its use. It is also unsafe for pregnant women, women who might become pregnant, and nursing mothers. Patients in a state of cardiac shock, those with severe heart valve issues, unstable angina patients, those who have experienced a myocardial infarction within the last month, and patients with severely impaired liver function should not use this medication. Moreover, patients with severe hypotension may also risk danger when taking this medication, so caution is required. This medication should not be discontinued suddenly, as worsening of symptoms may occur, so it is important to not stop taking it without a doctor's instruction. Particularly for patients with liver dysfunction, care should be taken with dosage adjustments, as the drug may have a prolonged half-life in such cases. This medication takes time to be effective and is not suitable for emergency situations such as acute angina.
