Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension who are not adequately controlled with single-drug therapy, utilizing a combination of Amlodipine and Olmesartan Medoxomil. The two drugs work together to dilate blood vessels and effectively lower blood pressure, thereby helping to improve hypertension.
This medication should be taken once daily as one tablet with water, irrespective of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g. in the morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20/12.5mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with combination therapy of Amlodipine/Olmesartan Medoxomil 5/20 mg. - 5/40/12.5mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with combination therapy of Amlodipine/Olmesartan Medoxomil 5/40mg.
Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, therefore use of this medication is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be stopped immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Do not take this medication if you are allergic to it or any of its components, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have severe hypotension or problems with heart, kidney, or liver function. Patients with low blood volume or decreased salt levels may develop hypotension, so they should be carefully monitored before taking this medication, and appropriate actions should be taken as necessary. Patients with poor renal function or kidney transplant recipients should regularly monitor their renal function and electrolyte levels with blood tests, and this medication is not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment. Patients with liver disease or diminished liver function may require dosage adjustments, and it is best not to use this medication in patients with severe liver impairment. This medication lowers blood pressure, which may cause dizziness or lightheadedness; caution is advised when driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication may interact with other drugs, particularly lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and other blood pressure medications, so caution is necessary when used together. Blood tests to monitor electrolytes and renal function should be conducted regularly while taking this medication, and any unusual symptoms should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately. If breastfeeding, it is recommended to stop nursing or discontinue this medication as its components can be passed into breast milk. It is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age, as safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients may have a more sensitive drug response due to renal function decline, so starting at a lower dose and careful monitoring is advised. In case of overdose, severe hypotension and heart rhythm abnormalities may occur, necessitating immediate contact with healthcare personnel and appropriate treatment. Store this medication protected from moisture, heat, and light, and keep it out of reach of children. It is advisable not to transfer it to another container. During treatment, the skin may become sensitive to sunlight, so it is important to pay attention to UV protection, and consult a professional if any skin abnormalities occur.
