View approved original text

This medication is used to help control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be administered as monotherapy, and when blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy during initial treatment without any prior experience with other diabetes medication, it should be used in combination with Metformin. Additionally, this medication can be used when sufficient blood sugar control is not achieved with monotherapies of Metformin or sulfonylureas. It can also be used in conjunction with insulin therapy when blood sugar control is inadequate, either alone or in combination with Metformin. Furthermore, when blood sugar control is difficult with combined therapy of sulfonylureas and Metformin or Empagliflozin (25mg) combined with Metformin, this medication can be used to improve blood sugar.
