This medication is used to relieve pain and muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders. It is particularly effective for conditions such as frozen shoulder syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It also helps improve symptoms of spastic paralysis caused by neurological disorders. This includes cerebrovascular diseases, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, postoperative sequelae, and post-traumatic sequelae. It is used to alleviate symptoms related to muscle stiffness caused by various cerebrospinal disorders, thereby reducing discomfort in daily life. In other words, this medication is used to improve muscle spasms and stiffness, enhancing the quality of life for patients.

How to take

Adult dose

As efepresone hydrochloride, administer 50 mg orally three times a day after meals. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with hypersensitivity or those with myasthenia gravis. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so those with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity or liver function issues should use this medication cautiously. This medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, so individuals with allergies to this substance should take special care. Rarely, side effects such as shock, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, and anemia may occur; if symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. Skin rashes, itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, dyspepsia, urinary retention, and other symptoms may occur, so it is important to monitor your condition closely. Severe skin adverse reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome can occur rarely, so if symptoms such as fever, blisters, or eye redness appear, discontinue the medication immediately and seek medical help. During treatment with this medication, symptoms such as weakness, dizziness, and drowsiness may occur, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery. If taken with similar medications or specific muscle relaxants, visual disturbances may occur, so it is important to consult a doctor. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and those who are breastfeeding should avoid taking it or discontinue breastfeeding if possible. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so it should be used cautiously in pediatric patients. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, so they should take a lower dose or use it with caution.
