Improvement of excessive pigmentation (lentigo, melasma, etc.)
This medication helps gradually reduce excessive pigmentation such as lentigines, melasma, freckles, and senile lentigines, leading to clearer and brighter skin. It alleviates the pigmentation in areas where melanin is excessively deposited, improving skin tone uniformly. With this therapeutic effect, patients can effectively manage skin issues caused by excessive melanin. Therefore, it is used to improve excessive pigmentation of the skin.
Apply hydroquinone 2% once or twice daily (morning and before bed) to the affected area.
This medication is a cream used to improve skin pigmentation. Great caution must be taken to avoid sun exposure while using this medication. Even minimal exposure to sunlight can darken the skin again, so sunscreen must be applied, or clothing that blocks sunlight should be worn. Additionally, prolonged use of this medication may cause side effects on the skin, thus it is important to adjust the duration of use as needed and to avoid using it for extended periods. Patients who are allergic to this medication or have had hypersensitive reactions, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, children under 12 years old, and individuals with impaired kidney function should not use this medication. This medication contains sodium bisulfite, which can cause allergic reactions or asthma attacks in some individuals, so asthmatics should be especially cautious. If unusual symptoms such as itching, redness, or blisters appear while using the medication, it should be stopped immediately and consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is advised. When using it for the first time, it is advisable to apply a small amount to the skin and observe for 24 hours to check for sensitivity. Severe inflammation or itching is a contraindication for use. If no effect is observed after using for about 2 months, usage should be stopped and a professional should be consulted. This medication is for skin depigmentation purposes only and is not suitable for sunblock or prevention of sunburn. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid this medication due to uncertain safety. Excessive use may cause redness or warmth on the skin; thus, limit the application area and ensure it does not exceed 10% of the total skin area. This medication must be used externally only and care must be taken to avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to another container. Finally, using this medication chronically for a long time may rarely cause serious changes in the skin, so long-term use should be avoided for safety.
