View approved original text

This medication is primarily used for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis and periartritis of the shoulder. Knee osteoarthritis is a disease in which the cartilage of the knee joint is damaged, causing pain and restrictions in movement, while periartritis of the shoulder results in pain and discomfort due to inflammation around the shoulder. This drug helps alleviate these symptoms and improve joint function, making it effective for knee and shoulder joint disorders.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Typically, for adults, 1 tube is administered once weekly for 3 consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint, but the frequency of administration should be adjusted according to symptoms.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients who have an allergic reaction to its components. Caution is advised for patients who have had allergic reactions to other medications or have liver function issues or such medical history. Additionally, caution is needed if there is a skin disease or infection at the injection site. Rarely, severe shock symptoms may occur after using this medication, so the condition should be closely monitored after administration; if abnormal symptoms manifest, the administration should be immediately halted with appropriate treatment sought. Mild allergic reactions may present as swelling of the face or around the eyes, rashes, or itching; if these symptoms occur, drug use should stop and medical attention should be sought. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, warmth, and other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or fever at the injection site may also occur. In cases of severe inflammation in the joint, this drug may worsen the inflammation, so it is advisable to use it after the inflammation has subsided. After injection, stabilizing the joint area is beneficial. This drug must be injected accurately into the joint, and care should be taken as incorrect injection can cause pain. Clean and sterile conditions must be maintained during injection, and if the symptoms do not improve, administration should be limited to within 3 times. If there is fluid accumulation in the joint, it is safe to drain the fluid if necessary before administration. Intravenous administration is strictly prohibited, and this drug is not for ophthalmic use, so it must not be used for eye conditions. Typically, a 22 to 23 gauge needle is suitable for injection. Caution should be taken as mixing this drug with certain disinfectants can lead to precipitation. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this drug, and nursing mothers should avoid breastfeeding during medication use. Safety has not been sufficiently confirmed for children, so it should only be used cautiously when absolutely necessary. Elderly patients may have decreased physical function, thus it should be used with greater caution.
