Precautions

This medication may put a strain on the liver, so individuals who regularly consume more than 3 glasses of alcohol daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. The acetaminophen included in this medication can rarely cause severe skin reactions, so if you experience a rash or hypersensitivity, you should stop taking it immediately. Taking tramadol in amounts exceeding the recommended dosage can increase the risk of seizures, and combining it with certain antidepressants or narcotics can further increase the risk of seizures. This medication can cause respiratory depression in patients with compromised respiratory function or in those with acute asthma and should only be used under medical supervision. Co-administration of this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma, so caution is required. Patients with head injuries or elevated intracranial pressure may experience worsening symptoms while taking this medication, so caution in administration is needed. Tramadol has the potential for dependency or abuse; therefore, caution is necessary with long-term use, and withdrawal symptoms may occur. This medication should not be used in children under 12 years of age or in pediatric patients after certain surgeries, and dosage adjustment is required for elderly patients or those with liver or kidney impairment. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a physician before taking this medication, as it can be transmitted to the infant. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur after taking this medication, so caution is advised when engaging in activities that require concentration, such as driving or operating machinery. Severe side effects may occur with overdose; therefore, do not exceed the prescribed dosage, and if an overdose occurs, contact a medical facility immediately for appropriate treatment. This medication can interact with various drugs; therefore, you must inform your medical provider of any other medications being taken, especially with antidepressants, opioid analgesics, and central nervous system depressants.
