This medication helps to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and cold sensations caused by chronic arterial occlusion. It is also used to prevent recurrence after a cerebral infarction, maintaining the patient's health.

How to take

Adult dose

For cilostazol, the usual adult dose is 200mg orally once a day. This drug is taken on an empty stomach to avoid food interference.

Precautions

This drug may increase heart rate, posing a risk of angina, so symptoms like chest pain should be monitored carefully. It should not be administered to patients at high risk of bleeding, those who have recently had a hemorrhagic stroke or surgery, congestive heart failure patients, or patients allergic to this medication. Pregnant or nursing women should not be administered this drug. Patients taking anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents, women who are menstruating, and patients with heart disease should use this drug cautiously. Patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function, diabetics, and patients with hypertension also require caution. This drug may cause side effects such as headaches, diarrhea, palpitations, joint pain, and chest discomfort, and severe bleeding, liver dysfunction, pneumonia, and heart issues can occur, so consultation with a doctor should be sought immediately in case of abnormal symptoms. Dizziness may occur during administration, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Taking this medicine with food may increase drug concentration, so it is recommended to take it on an empty stomach and maintain an interval of more than 3 hours between meals and medication. It may interact with other medications, particularly anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, certain antibiotics, and calcium channel blockers, so consultation with a physician or pharmacist is advised if taken together.
