View approved original text

This medication is used to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness caused by chronic arterial occlusion, Buerger's disease, atherosclerosis, and diabetic peripheral vascular disease. It also helps to prevent recurrence after a cerebral infarction, particularly excluding cardiogenic cerebral embolism. By improving blood circulation, it alleviates ischemic symptoms and is effective in preventing the recurrence of cerebral infarction. Therefore, it can be used to enhance vascular health and relieve symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, for adults, 200 mg is taken orally once a day. This drug should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.

Precautions

This medication may increase heart rate, which can pose a risk for symptoms of angina, so symptoms such as chest pain should be closely monitored. Patients at risk of bleeding or those who have had recent bleeding, patients with congestive heart failure, patients with a history of allergic reactions to this drug or its components, pregnant or potentially pregnant women and nursing mothers should not take this medication. Patients taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, thrombolytics, women during menstruation, patients with coronary artery stenosis, severely impaired kidney or liver function, diabetic patients, patients with consistently high blood pressure, and patients with certain heart conditions should use this medication with caution. Side effects such as headaches, diarrhea, palpitations, joint swelling, and chest discomfort may occur. In severe cases, symptoms like bleeding, blood cell reductions, interstitial pneumonia, heart failure, myocardial infarction may occur, and if abnormal symptoms appear, immediate consultation with a doctor is recommended. This medication is administered after symptoms stabilize in cerebral infarction patients, and caution should be exercised regarding blood pressure control and signs of bleeding when taken with other blood coagulation-related medications due to increased risk of bleeding. Dizziness may occur during use, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Taking this medication with food may increase blood concentration, raising the risk of side effects; therefore, it is recommended to take it on an empty stomach and maintain a minimum interval of 3 hours between meals and medication. As this drug is metabolized in the liver, it may interact with certain medications, and when taken with drugs that inhibit liver metabolic enzymes, blood concentration may increase, necessitating careful dosage adjustment and monitoring. Pregnant or nursing mothers should not take this drug, as negative effects on the fetus have been reported in animal studies. Safety in children and infants has not been adequately confirmed, so caution is needed for use. Elderly patients may have reduced physical functions, necessitating careful dosage adjustments. In case of overdose, symptoms such as headache, diarrhea, low blood pressure, and heart rhythm abnormalities may occur, requiring immediate medical attention.
