This medication is used to treat ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, anastomotic ulcers, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by peptic ulcers. It is also effective for gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, improving gastric mucosal lesions including erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling during acute exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis. This drug protects the gastric mucosa and aids in rapid recovery of damaged areas, helping to treat gastrointestinal diseases. It is used to strengthen patients' gastric health and reduce discomfort.

1. Gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, upper gastrointestinal bleeding: 20 mg once, twice a day (after breakfast, after dinner, or at bedtime) orally, or 40 mg once a day at bedtime orally. In cases of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, treatment is usually initiated with injection, and when oral administration becomes possible, it is switched to oral medication. 2. Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to certain components or have had hypersensitivity reactions to similar drugs in the past. Furthermore, since it contains lactose, patients with a genetic disorder affecting lactose digestion should not take it. Caution is advised in patients with a history of drug allergies, those with impaired kidney function, heart disease, liver dysfunction, and the elderly. Severe side effects can occur during the course of this medication, so if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. For example, symptoms such as allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, severe symptoms on the skin and mucous membranes, liver dysfunction, muscle damage, cardiac rhythm disturbances, consciousness changes, kidney problems, and lung disease may appear. Mild side effects such as skin rash, digestive disorders, blood pressure changes, headache, drowsiness, insomnia, and psychological changes have been reported, so caution is needed. During treatment, symptoms and blood tests, as well as liver and kidney function tests, should be checked periodically, and if no effect is observed or if side effects are severe, other treatment methods may be adopted. This drug dissolves in the mouth but is not absorbed in the oral cavity, so it must be swallowed with water or saliva. Patients undergoing dialysis should be cautious when using this medication together with certain phosphate binders, as it may decrease the drug's efficacy. Since interactions with other drugs may occur, particularly with certain antifungal or anticancer medications, patients should inform their doctor. Due to decreased kidney function, elderly patients may have the drug remaining in their bodies longer, so careful usage is required, including reducing the dose or increasing the interval between doses. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only when the benefits outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding women should discontinue breastfeeding as the medication may be transmitted through breast milk. Safety in children has not been adequately confirmed, so use is not recommended. Lastly, this medication may obscure symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should be used only after confirming its malignancy.
