This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling their blood pressure with existing therapy, through a combination therapy of amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil. It effectively lowers blood pressure and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications. In other words, it is used to improve blood pressure control and enhance the overall vascular health of patients.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is taken as one tablet once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). The maximum recommended dosage is Amlodipine/Olmesartan Medoxomil/Hydrochlorothiazide 10/40/25 mg. The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20/12.5 mg: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with the combination therapy of Amlodipine/Olmesartan Medoxomil 5/20 mg.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, therefore the use of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately. It should not be administered to those with allergies to this medication or its components, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients with severe hypotension, heart disease, or serious kidney or liver diseases. Care should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with decreased blood volume, diminished kidney function, liver disease, certain heart conditions, etc., and their condition should be closely monitored at the beginning of treatment. As this medication has blood pressure-lowering effects, dizziness or orthostatic hypotension may occur; caution is advised during driving or operating hazardous machinery. This medication can affect potassium levels, so caution is needed as blood potassium levels may become dangerously high when used in combination with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics. Diabetic patients may experience difficulties in blood sugar control when taking this medication, so they should frequently check their blood sugar levels and adjust medication dosage as necessary. This medication may cause the skin to react sensitively to sunlight, so precaution should be taken for UV protection while taking it, and immediate consultation with a physician is necessary if abnormal reactions occur. In the case of overdose, severe hypotension and cardiac side effects may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought, and blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels should be regularly monitored during treatment. Use of this medication is not recommended during breastfeeding; it is better to either stop breastfeeding or discontinue the medication if necessary. It is advisable not to use this medication in children under the age of 18, as safety and efficacy has not been established for this age group. Elderly patients may have decreased kidney and liver function, so starting treatment at lower doses and administering cautiously is advised.

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), palpitations, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances.
