This drug is primarily used to reduce elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia (type IV). It can effectively control hypertriglyceridemia when administered alone. Furthermore, in patients exhibiting both hyperlipidemia and hypertriglyceridemia concurrently (type IIb), better therapeutic effects can be expected when used in conjunction with statin medications. In particular, even for those with uncontrolled triglyceride levels, using it alongside statins can improve blood lipid levels. This drug aids in the management of hyperlipidemia and contributes to overall cardiovascular health improvement.
