This medication is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive reflux esophagitis and is effective for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence. It is also used in combination with antibiotics for the treatment of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. It provides short-term relief of upper gastrointestinal symptoms caused by the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and helps in the treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers in patients requiring long-term analgesic therapy. It is also applicable in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and is used in maintenance therapy for the prevention of gastric or duodenal ulcer rebleeding after intravenous treatment. Overall, it is effectively used for the treatment of various gastrointestinal-related diseases and symptom relief.

Hives, angioedema, anaphylactic reaction, shock, severe allergic reactions, hypomagnesemia (severe), hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, pancreatitis, rarely hepatitis with or without jaundice, liver failure, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), severe skin adverse reactions.
