This drug is used for the treatment of essential hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil. It effectively lowers blood pressure, reduces the burden on the heart and blood vessels, and helps prevent long-term complications.

How to take

Adult dose

This drug is administered as one tablet once daily regardless of meals, preferably at the same time every day (e.g. morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20 milligrams: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 5 milligrams of amlodipine or 20 milligrams of olmesartan medoxomil monotherapy. - 10/20 milligrams: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 20 milligrams of olmesartan medoxomil monotherapy.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established.

Precautions

This medicine can cause severe damage to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be stopped immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Those who are allergic to this drug's active ingredients, pregnant women, breastfeeding women, persons with severe liver disease or certain heart diseases, dialysis patients, patients in shock, and diabetic patients taking certain medications should not take this drug. Patients with low blood pressure due to fluid or salt deficiency or those at risk of rapid vascular expansion, patients with severe obstructive coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, impaired kidney function, poor liver function, etc., should use this drug cautiously, and their condition should be carefully monitored during the initial doses. This drug may cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, indigestion, skin rash, and swelling, so consult a doctor if any abnormal symptoms occur. While this drug is different from beta-blockers, beta-blockers should be gradually reduced to minimize risks associated with stopping them. This drug may affect kidney function; therefore, those with kidney disease or those taking other related medications should have their blood pressure and kidney function checked regularly. It is safest not to use this drug during pregnancy, and it should be replaced with other safer medications if necessary. Breastfeeding may lead this drug to be transmitted in breast milk affecting the baby, so breastfeeding should be stopped or this medication should be discontinued. Its safety and efficacy have not been established in children under 18 years of age; therefore, it is not recommended for them. In the elderly, it is advisable to start with a low dose considering the potential decline in kidney and liver functions, and their condition should be monitored closely. In case of overdose, low blood pressure and heart rhythm abnormalities may occur, thus immediate medical attention must be sought, and blood pressure and heart function should be continuously monitored. This medicine should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from sunlight and moisture, and it should not be transferred to another container.

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), difficulty breathing, severe skin adverse reactions (severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, mucosal pain in mouth/eyes along with high fever), jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), sudden and severe headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output, severe swelling or urination abnormalities, gallstones, female breast neoplasm, exacerbation of cerebral infarct, gum bleeding, rhabdomyolysis, acute.
