This drug is used for patients who need to take both Telmisartan and Rosuvastatin. Telmisartan helps lower essential hypertension and the risk of cardiovascular diseases, especially reducing the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular death in high-risk patients aged 55 and older. Rosuvastatin is effective in lowering cholesterol levels when used with a diet in patients with hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia and slows the progression of atherosclerosis. It also reduces the risk of stroke and myocardial infarction in middle-aged patients with risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The combination of these two drugs helps manage blood pressure and lipid levels, thus improving cardiovascular health. Therefore, this medication is used for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

Telmisartan should be taken orally once daily at 20-80 mg, and for the treatment of essential hypertension, a dosage of 20 mg once daily may also be effective depending on the patient. For reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, an oral dose of 80 mg once daily is recommended. Caution must be exercised in patients with liver impairment not to exceed 40 mg once daily. Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Do not take this medication if you have allergies to this drug or its components, are pregnant or may become pregnant, or are nursing. Patients with severely impaired liver function or problems with bile secretion, unexplained elevated liver enzyme levels, or muscle diseases should also avoid this medication. Patients with severe renal impairment or those co-administered with specific immunosuppressants, as well as those with diabetes or moderate to severe kidney problems, are advised not to use this medication together. Patients at high risk for muscle disease, for example, those with reduced kidney function, patients with hypothyroidism, those with a family history of muscle disease, and those taking other lipid-lowering drugs should exercise caution when taking this medication. This medication contains lactose; thus, patients with lactose intolerance should not take it. Elderly patients or those with high potassium levels or mild to moderate liver function impairment should use this medication carefully and may need dosage adjustments. Regular liver function tests and muscle enzyme tests should be carried out while using this medication, and if symptoms such as muscle pain, weakness, or cramps occur, patients should consult their doctor immediately. If unexplained muscle pain occurs during this medication, especially if muscle enzyme levels increase to more than five times the normal upper limit, discontinuation of the medication is necessary. Since this medication can affect liver function, patients with a history of liver disease should undergo liver function tests before and during treatment. As this drug has a blood pressure-lowering effect, symptoms of hypotension, dizziness, and fainting may occur, and immediate communication with a healthcare provider is essential if these symptoms are present. Patients using this drug should refrain from alcohol consumption and consult a doctor when combining this drug with others that may affect liver health. Additionally, this drug may interact with certain medications, so patients must inform their healthcare provider of any other medications they are taking. Caution is advised when operating vehicles or dangerous machinery, as drowsiness or dizziness may occur.
