This medication is used for patients who need to take both active ingredients, telmisartan and rosuvastatin. Telmisartan is primarily used to treat essential hypertension and helps reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular-related mortality in patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease. It is especially useful in high-risk patients who cannot use ACE inhibitors. Rosuvastatin helps treat hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia and is used as an adjunct when dietary management is insufficient. Additionally, it lowers cholesterol levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia, delays the progression of atherosclerosis, and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, strokes, and myocardial infarctions. Therefore, this medication effectively improves the risk of cardiovascular disease through the management of blood pressure and blood lipids.
