(Hypertension, Angina) Improvement of myocardial ischemia and reduction of the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke in patients with cardiovascular risk factors
This medication is used for patients who need to take both amlodipine (escitalopram) and atorvastatin simultaneously. Amlodipine is mainly helpful for treating myocardial ischemia caused by hypertension and stable or variant angina. It is also used to reduce the risk of hospitalization for angina and the risk of vascular procedures in patients recently diagnosed with coronary artery disease. Atorvastatin is effective in lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases, contributing to risk reduction in various situations such as myocardial infarction, stroke, and angina. Additionally, it is used to improve hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia and serves as an adjunct to dietary therapy. Overall, this medication is used to reduce blood pressure and the risk of cardiovascular diseases, and to improve blood lipid levels.
This medication is administered only to adults, and the dosing should be individualized for each patient based on the efficacy and tolerance of amlodipine/atorvastatin in each component. Amlodipine (Escitalopram): An oral dose of 5 (2.5) mg once daily, which may be increased up to a maximum of 10 (5) mg daily according to patient response. Adjust as appropriate based on symptoms. Atorvastatin: A recommended initial dose of 10 mg once daily.
This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients who are allergic to this medication or similar components, those with severe liver disease, pregnant or nursing women, or patients with muscle disorders should not take this medication. Additionally, special caution should be taken in patients with severely impaired kidney function, elderly patients, patients consuming large amounts of alcohol, and those with severely weakened cardiac function. Their condition should be carefully monitored, possibly through blood tests. This medication generally has good tolerance, but rare side effects such as blood pressure drop, muscle pain, gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, and dizziness may occur. In case of muscle pain, muscle weakness, or severe fatigue, medical personnel should be informed immediately. This medication may affect liver function, so liver function tests should be conducted regularly before and during treatment, and if symptoms of liver dysfunction appear, medication should be discontinued. There may also be interactions with certain medications while taking this drug. If other medications are being taken, medical personnel should be informed, especially when co-administering with drugs that affect liver metabolism or specific antibiotics, antifungals, and HIV treatments. Pregnant women or women of childbearing potential should not take this medication, and if pregnancy occurs during treatment, it should be discontinued immediately and consulting a physician is necessary. Likewise, it is safe for nursing women to avoid taking this medication. The safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been adequately confirmed in children or elderly patients, so it should be used cautiously in these age groups. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop excessively or cardiac rhythm disturbances may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may adversely affect the quality.
