This medication should not be administered to women who are pregnant or at risk of pregnancy, and to breastfeeding women. It should not be used in patients with gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation. Patients with certain tumors or those allergic to this medication should also refrain from using it. Caution is necessary for patients with liver diseases or certain stages of mental illness. Patients with lactose intolerance should not take this medication. It should be administered with caution to patients with hypertension, children, and the elderly, particularly regarding overdose in children. This medication may cause symptoms such as amenorrhea or excessive lactation due to hormonal secretion abnormalities; if such symptoms occur, it should be discontinued immediately. Symptoms of movement disorders or involuntary movements may occur infrequently, requiring careful monitoring. Gastrointestinal symptoms and cardiac-related abnormalities may also occur, with severe cases potentially leading to serious side effects like Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome requiring immediate treatment. It is advisable to avoid activities requiring caution, such as driving or operating machinery while on this medication. There may be interactions with other medications, so consulting a physician is essential, particularly when taking medications affecting the heart. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not be treated due to the lack of established safety for the fetus and newborn. In elderly patients, decreased renal function may result in prolonged drug retention in the body, making dosage adjustment and observation of side effects crucial. This medication has an antiemetic effect that may conceal certain vomiting symptoms; hence, close observation of symptom changes is important. Reports have noted reproductive-related abnormalities with long-term high-dose administration, necessitating caution.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from exposure to air or moisture. It is best to maintain a storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. Proper storage will help preserve the medication’s efficacy and safety.
